The material (anatomical) information provided by the study of the respiratory system is used to build a model of a world. The anatomical facts are put in mandala form, ie converted into a simplistic graphical depiction conveying the essential information. The relationships between the topographical entities in the mandala depiction is expected to correspond to those in the actual system. The various measurements and dimensions seem to have been made exclusively in the context of this model, however.
